Yeast infections & monistat?

Ok, so I had a classic yeast infection and decided to use Monistat 1. In a nutshell it didn't work and caused lots of irritationans i got some slight pain when my period decided to come along for the ride.So then I opted for the 7 day which I thought would be gentler. Now, most of my symptoms are gone but I still have a very slight itch & a milky white discharge. Help! I just want this thing to go away?!? Any suggestions?
