Which camera or lens suits best for landscape photography?

I am interested in Landscape photography and would like to take pictures from say 50-200m distance. I want to take very zoomed shots from that distance. WIll NIkon Coolpix L120 or P500 with 21X or 36X optical zoom repectively suffice or will I get better results with 18-200mm/ 28-300mm lens used in DSLRs which give around 11X . I also interested in great image quality though not size. In nutshell, I need a camera or lenses which can give great zooming as well as great image quality. Any suggestions?
