What is up with my boots they hurt my feet?

i got new predators the other day there not the brand new ones.but onto the question the ball of my foot hurts when i wear them i can actually feel that there is something underneath the sole of the boot i think it is because my feet might be too wide because its over at the edge of the sole where it hurts there is no actual lump but i can feel there is something there but my old nike boots were grand so it cant be because my feet are too wide
